Carlos Castro, Barcelona 1967.
I studied architecture at the University of Barcelona, and during my studies, I complemented my education by working as a technician in various construction companies. This experience provided me with comprehensive practical knowledge of the various trades involved in a project, from initial planning to final execution.
In 1993, I founded two companies. The first focused on developing an innovative program of standardized bioclimatic housing using expanded polystyrene blocks filled with concrete to maximize energy efficiency. The second specialized in the manufacturing of these blocks and the development of specialized coatings that ensured optimal durability in their adhesion to polystyrene.
Throughout my career, I have led projects in diverse countries such as Spain, Morocco, Italy, Portugal, and Russia. This international experience has allowed me to integrate local traditions with modernity, adapting each design to the cultural and technical characteristics of each context.
In over thirty years of professional experience, I have worked on a wide range of projects, including residential buildings, offices, luxury single-family homes, commercial complexes, cinemas, casinos, hotels, theaters, amphitheaters, corporate headquarters, libraries, and universities. Among the most notable projects is the construction of the University Mohamed VI in Rabat, Morocco.
In 2000, I had the opportunity to meet the renowned architect Ricardo Bofill, and since 2008, I have closely collaborated with him and his team on numerous architectural and interior design projects in countries such as the United States, Spain, Italy, Russia, Côte d’Ivoire, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Panama, and Saudi Arabia.
